Hybrid and electric cars have traditionally had a stodgy reputation as low-powered vehicles. Lately, though, many startups have been developing high-end cars for affluent customers who want to show off their environmental sensibilities. The best-known of those is Tesla, and now Fisker is entering the market with its Karma hybrid. As stylish as an Aston Martin, the Karma weighs in at a surprising 5,000 pounds, can travel up to 50 miles on its electric charge, has a range of 300 miles and a top speed of 125 mph. The car is currently undergoing crash certification and is expected to be available in March of next year, for around $80,000
